Johannes Fog, one of Denmark’s leading timber and building supply retailers and wholesalers with a history spanning over 100 years, needed to upgrade its Product Information Management (PIM) system to minimise complexity, increase scalability, and enable growth.

With a revenue of 1.1 billion DKK in 2023 and a strong presence both online and across 9 centres in Zealand, Denmark, Johannes Fog needed a robust, scalable solution to manage its vast product catalogue of currently 215,000 products.

The existing PIM had served for a decade but was heavily customised, deviating from best practices. With the license period ending, Johannes Fog faced a tight deadline of two months and budget constraints to replace the PIM, while ensuring a smooth changeover and maintaining operational stability during the busy summer months.

Therefore, Johannes Fog sought a partner that could offer a cost-effective, strategic approach to implement a new PIM with minimal disruption.

FAST, SCALABLE AND FUTURE-READY

Together, we took a phased approach to deliver a structured and efficient transition. The process focused on meeting Johannes Fog’s goal of a 1:1 system replacement to minimise disruption while future-proofing the setup for scalability and best practices.

The goal was to ensure a seamless transition from the old PIM system to the new Struct PIM, leveraging Microsoft Azure for added scalability. With the fixed deadline in mind, the focus was on ensuring that the new system could be implemented swiftly without compromising quality.
