PIM SYSTEM SUPPORTS EXPANSION
An inriver PIM system has vastly simplified product enrichment. With its structured product data, Carl Hansen & Søn can now deploy 100%-uniform product data across markets. The solution includes Dynamics AX and Optimizely CMS. Today, the PIM systems are a key element in Carl Hansen & Søn’s commerce solution.
HOW CAN GLOBAL SALES BE STRENGTHENED DIGITALLY AND GLOBALLY?
For more than 100 years, Carl Hansen & Søn has manufactured high quality furniture. Today, their products can be bought in most countries around the world. To strengthen their digital sales and make everyday work easier for both dealers and users, the furniture producer wished to build a global unified commerce solution that could support both B2B and B2C customers around the world. For this, a Product Information Management system (PIM) was required.

By investing in a PIM system, Carl Hansen & Søn has ensured that expansion will not be constrained by product data. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Product enrichment has been simplified considerably and can now be replicated on many channels, which reinforces Carl Hansen & Søn’s growth ambitions for the future.

AMBITIOUS SET-UP. OPTIMAL USER EXPERIENCE
The PIM system excels by making use of a modular structure. The ambitious set-up was chosen to ensure optimal user experience when configuring products. Configuration is the next step in developing the new platform for Carl Hansen & Søn.
Furthermore, the modular concept ensures effective enrichment; for example, fabric types are only required to be enriched once, after which the data is combinable with all products.

We won’t obtain our goals sitting on the sofa. At repeated workshops at both Carl Hansen & Søn and IMPACT, we came to a common understanding of the furniture producer’s products and their needs in terms of product structures. Consequently, product data is now also structured in a way in which designs, hierarchies and descriptions match the customers’ thought processes.
THE WORK CONTINUES
Now that the product data has been straightened out, we can implement 100% uniformity on several platforms so that Carl Hansen & Søn will see maximum results from the system.
IMPACT and Carl Hansen & Søn are collaborating on the implementation of a new commerce platform in which inriver PIM is the key element.
PIM represents the legs on which the designer table stands.
Together with Carl Hansen & Søn, we have implemented the latest inriver PIM system in a best-of-breed set-up that also includes Dynamics AX and Optimizely CMS.

This is of course highly practical, as the company has employees across several continents.
