Elemis built a scalable product data foundation with Akeneo PIM
A focused Akeneo PIM implementation that brings control, clarity and scalability to product data.
As Elemis continued to grow, the business needed smarter, more scalable ways of working with product data.
Product information lived across multiple systems, with no shared product model and limited governance. This created unnecessary complexity across the technology landscape and made it harder to move quickly without increasing risk as the business scaled.
For Elemis, the goal was clear: establish a single, governed PIM platform that could support the UK market, integrate cleanly with ERP, DAM and e-commerce, and provide a future-proof foundation for ongoing digital initiatives and future expansion.

Keeping scope tight while moving fast
IMPACT partnered closely with Elemis and Akeneo to deliver a focused PIM initiative built around a clear MVP and architecture-first mindset.
The project kicked off in June with an on-site start in the UK, where teams worked side by side for two intensive days to align on scope, priorities and technical direction. The PIM implementation ran as a self-contained track alongside several other strategic programmes, ensuring momentum without creating dependencies or delivery risk elsewhere.
Akeneo PIM was selected as the core platform, with integrations to ERP, DAM and the composable commerce platform, creating a single source of truth for product data across the stack.
From the start, IMPACT worked as an extension of our team. They understood both the business and the technical constraints, and helped us make the right architectural decisions early. That collaboration was critical to delivering a solution on time that we can trust and scale.
A governed PIM foundation, built to scale
IMPACT delivered an end-to-end PIM implementation, including:
- A unified, scalable product data model
- Clear governance, roles and ownership
- Integrations to ERP, DAM and e-commerce
- A pragmatic MVP scope focused on control, stability and value
- Knowledge transfer and handover to ensure long-term ownership
The solution was delivered on time, within budget and to a high level of quality, with final handover completed in October.
“This wasn’t just about implementing a tool. IMPACT challenged us in the right way, brought strong PIM expertise, and worked very closely with both our IT and business teams. The result is a robust platform that fits our architecture and supports how we want to operate going forward.” says Tiaan Heystek, Product Data Strategy Manager at Elemis.
Lower complexity, faster delivery, clearer ownership
Elemis now operates with a single, governed product data foundation, reducing complexity across the technology landscape while improving speed, quality and confidence.
For IT leadership, the new setup provides clear ownership, cleaner integrations and lower operational risk. For the business, it enables faster time to market and consistent product information across channels.
The platform is designed to scale, both technically and organisationally, as Elemis expands into new markets and use cases.
This project shows the value of a focused, architecture-led approach. By keeping the scope clear and working closely with Elemis, we were able to deliver a PIM foundation that is stable today and flexible for what comes next.
